چکیده

The SIMDualKc model was applied to evaluate the crop water use and coefficient (Kc) of an irrigated olive grove (Olea europaea L.) located in Sicily, Italy, using experimental data collected from two seasons. applies FAO56 dual Kc approach compute actual evapotranspiration (ETc act) its components, i.e., tree transpiration (Tc act), obtained through basal (Kcb), soil evaporation according (Ke). Model calibration performed by minimizing difference between predicted Tc act observed daily measured with sap flow instrumentation (TSF field) acquired 2009. validation independent set measurements 2011. calibrated Kcb equal 0.30 for initial non-growing season stages, 0.42 mid-season, 0.37 end season. For both seasons, goodness-of-fit indicators relative comparing TSF field simulated resulted root mean square errors (RMSE) lower than 0.27 mm d−1 a slope linear regression close 1.0 (0.94 ≤ b0 1.00). balance produced ratio (Es) ETc that averaged 39%. potential (ETc) varied 84% about 99% indicating values are ETc, adopted deficit irrigation led limited stress. results confirm suitability apply crops, thus assessing olives supporting development appropriate management tools usable farmers. A different way estimate is based on suggested 2009 Allen Pereira (A&P), which involves fraction ground covered (shaded) height trees. Its application studied mid-season ranging 0.40–0.45 end-season 0.35–0.40. comparison A&P-computed A&P shows RMSE 0.43 d−1, demonstrates adequacy latter parameterizing models scheduling decision making.

Assessing Olive Evapotranspiration Partitioning from Soil Water Balance and Radiometric Soil and Canopy Temperatures

Evapotranspiration (ETc) partitioning and obtaining of FAO56 dual crop coefficient (Kc) for olive was carried out with the SIMDualKc software application for root zone and topsoil soil water balance based on the dual crop coefficients. A simplified two source-energy balance model (STSEB), based on daily remotely sensed soil and canopy thermal infrared data and retrieval of surface fluxes, also ...

Dynamics of transpiration, sap flow and use of stored water in tropical forest canopy trees.

In large trees, the daily onset of transpiration causes water to be withdrawn from internal storage compartments, resulting in lags between changes in transpiration and sap flow at the base of the tree. We measured time courses of sap flow, hydraulic resistance, plant water potential and stomatal resistance in co-occurring tropical forest canopy trees with trunk diameters ranging from 0.34-0.98...

the evaluation of language related engagment and task related engagment with the purpose of investigating the effect of metatalk and task typology

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Age-related decline in stand water use: sap flow and transpiration in a pine forest chronosequence

We investigated changes in the pattern of stand water use in a chronosequence of four even-aged maritime pine stands, differing in age (10-, 32-, 54and 91-year old) and growing under similar environmental conditions. Extensive sap flow measurements were carried out during a period of 2 years (2001–2002), using thermal dissipation sensors located 1 m below the live crown and corrected for the ra...
